Job Description: MissionCIT is seeking qualified individuals to serve as per diem proctors for our firefighter & EMS candidate evaluation process. Proctors will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and fairness of our testing procedures. We proctor assessments from entry-level to Chief Officer and Fire Marshal. We are seeking all ranks of service for our promotional examinations. Responsibilities: Oral Interview Boards: · Serve as a panelist for oral interviews, evaluating candidates based on standardized objective scoring rubrics. · Participate in pre-interview briefings and post-interview discussions. · Maintain objectivity and fairness throughout the evaluation process. Qualifications: · High school diploma or equivalent. · Strong communication and interpersonal skills. · Ability to maintain professionalism and objectivity in a high-pressure environment. · Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely. · Basic computer skills (for remote proctoring). · Experience in education, assessment, or a related field is preferred. Fire Service OR EMS Experience: · Must be a current firefighter/EMS provider or recently retired. Please include your highest held rank/certification level and any relevant certifications or accreditations in your resume. Candidates will be placed in the exam being proctored that is one level below your highest held rank/certification. This ensures familiarity with the material and a fair evaluation process. Additional Requirements: · Must be able to pass a background check. · May be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. · May need to travel to various testing locations within the United States. · Must sign a confidentiality contract. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Lead Skills Instructor to oversee our EMT-Basic NREMT psychomotor skills training program. This leadership position is responsible for coordinating skills instruction, managing instructor teams, and ensuring consistent high-quality training that meets NREMT standards. Job Description:

MissionCIT is seeking experienced EMT instructors to deliver high-quality initial EMT training programs in Muscat, Oman. Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Delivery: Teach comprehensive EMT courses aligned with the provided curriculum, ensuring adherence to State of CT standards and international best practices.
  • Hands-on Training: Conduct practical skills training sessions, including patient assessment, airway management, CPR, and medication administration.
  • Student Assessment: Evaluate student performance through written exams and practical skills demonstrations.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of the EMT curriculum.
  • Student Support: Provide guidance and support to students, answering questions and addressing concerns.
  Qualifications:
  • Certification: EMT certification or higher, Paramedic certification preferred with at least 5 years of experience as an EMS instructor.
  • Experience: Proven track record of delivering effective EMT training programs.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse learners.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Adapting to different cultural norms and teaching styles.  Note that weekends are Friday-Saturday.  Training is Sunday through Thursday.

  1. When will I get paid?

  2. How long is the ‘Teaching Deployment’
    1. Class is 4 weeks.
    2. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, starting at 8a or 9a local time and going for 8 hours per day.
    3. Note: Oman is 9 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time.  Oman does not change their clocks for Daylight Savings Time.
  3. Who are we teaching?
    1. Students are Firefighters (in training) from Saudi Ports. Saudi Ports serves Cruise Ship ports. Firefighters are generally multi-lingual.  If translation is required, IIFS will provide an in-class translator who has Fire & EMS experience.
  4. Who is IIFS?
    1. International Institute of Fire Safety based in Muscat, Oman. Basically, the Fire School of Oman.  They have been a customer of MissionCIT since 2022.

  5. What are we teaching?
    1. Our contract requires us to teach Initial EMT courses per NREMT guidelines.
    2. We use the MissionCIT content which is a Hybrid course. Class time is a combination of watching videos, interactive instruction per our instructor guides, and skills training.
    3. You will have the opportunity to teach the MissionCIT curriculum before you go to Oman to get comfortable.
    4. MissionCIT courses are authorized and approved CT OEMS and meet or exceed all NREMT guidelines.
    5. We also provide study guides with 1000s of NREMT-style questions.
    6. And We provide the MissionCIT EMS Mentor – an AI Chatbot that will accurately answer any EMT Level question within NREMT guidelines. And it works in any language so students can query class content real time to clarify things in native language.
  6. How does the travel work?
    1. We will confirm the exact dates of travel to/from Muscat, Oman, about two (2) weeks before the class starts. You will have 4-6 weeks notice.
    2. You will receive tickets in advance to Oman. Note that there are no direct flights, so travel will be one-stop.
    3. You will be picked up at Muscat Airport and taken to your hotel.
    4. Hotels are Western style – usually European Owned – and the equivalent of a Marriott.
    5. Someone will from IIFS will pick you up and return you to your residence.
  7. What is the food like?
    1. Hotels have an extensive breakfast buffet with European, Middle Eastern and Indian fare. Quality is excellent.
    2. Dinners have a choice of buffet or menu.
    3. Lunch will be provided by IIFS – no issues finding comfortable food.
    4. Note that since Islam is the state religion, pork products are scarce to non-existent.
    5. However, fruits and vegetables are amazing.
  8. What can I do in Muscat on Weekends (Friday – Saturday)
    1. Muscat is a resort destination for Europe and the GCC.
    2. You can find almost any type of food.
    3. IIFS will provide guidance on recommended things to do – there are many! Trip Advisor has 348 Day trips in Muscat.  Beaches are amazing.
  9. How do I communicate back home?
    1. Texting via What’s App is recommended. WhatsApp voip is restricted except in Government buildings.  When at IIFS you can call.
    2. Phone calls should be via Zoom – we’ll provide an account.
  10. Is Oman Safe?
    1. London is closer to Gaza than Muscat
    2. Very low crime, very clean, and safe for Women
  11. What to do
    1. Dress Modestly
    2. Women do not need to wear headcovering
    3. Respect everyone
    4. Be courteous to everyone
    5. Alcohol is legal – drunkenness is not
    6. Check with IIFS colleagues before venturing out on your own – they will guide you so your trip is enjoyable and safe.
