The EMT Boot Camp and 5-week courses require payment before the first skills session. If not paying in full when booking, a 25% non-refundable deposit will be required. What’s the difference between the 5 and 6-week courses?
Our 5-Week Accelerated course requires that you attend skill sessions each Saturday in Shelton, CT, from 8a-4p for 5 weeks.
The 6-week Boot Camp is for individuals who are unable to attend skill sessions on multiple Saturdays, including those travelling from out of state. So, we run the skill sessions Monday-Friday at the end of the course. NREMT Practical skills testing is available for that Saturday at $130 (**when available, cannot be guaranteed**).

Yes, each course is approved by the Connecticut Office of EMS and meets the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) standards. We have reciprocity with all National Registry States.
Yes, MissionCIT has partnered with a local hotel to offer discounted rates for our EMT Boot Camp students, many of whom are from out of state. A special rate of $129 per night is available at the Hampton Inn Hotel in Shelton, CT Hampton Inn Hotel in Shelton, CT (hilton.com). To receive the discount code, you must first enroll in the course.
The Hampton Inn provides a complimentary shuttle service to and from MissionCIT Offices for our students. It is based on availability, so please check with the front desk when you check in.
No, CPR certification is not a prerequisite for enrollment. MissionCIT provides CPR certification to all EMT Initial students on the first day of Skills class to ensure our high standards are met.
For EMT Boot Camp students, there is a locally hosted NREMT psychomotor exam on most Saturdays of our skills week. This is not conducted by MissionCIT, so your registration and the exam fee is the responsibility of the student. We help with transportation to and from the testing site (not located at MissionCIT).
5-Week Students will be advised of locations where they can take the Psychomotor Exam.
Collared shirts (polos) with khakis or work pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Clothing should not have any writing or logos other than those representing your department or agency.
Yes, upon successful completion of our program, you will be nationally certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), allowing you to work as an EMT anywhere in the United States. You will then need to apply for reciprocity or state licensure through your local Office of EMS.
