Mandated Reporter
MissionCIT offers Mandated Reporter Training for First Responders. The focus is for EMS Professionals and Firefighters. The level of training is at a sophisticated level appropriate for EMTs, Paramedics and Fire Service Officers and those with particular interest in the subject matter.
You will receive 3.5 CEUs upon successful completion.
The Mandated Reporter Training courses include Dr. Hoffman-Rosenfeld’s Child Sex Trafficking course and Child Abuse course, and MissionCIT’s new Human Trafficking course developed in collaboration with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF).
EMS Care Chapter 109 – Advanced Physical Child Abuse Child abuse is a serious issue that EMS professionals must be educated and trained to recognize and report.

An Excerpt from the course on Child Sex Trafficking
Many youths who become victims have risk factors that make them vulnerable. The child or teen may have been abused in the past. They may have been exposed to adverse childhood experiences in the home such as substance use. There may have been exposure to sexual abuse materials, unstable housing or homelessness and community violence. Though most victims are US citizens, some may be unaccompanied minors from countries outside of the US.
The CT DCF Human Trafficking Course for Fire and EMS Personnel is a required course for CT Firefighters and EMS personnel. It is an overview course that covers.
