Robb Hoffower is a seasoned emergency management professional with a strong background in both pre-hospital and hospital-based emergency response. He began his career as a paramedic in 2000, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in emergency medical services and frontline patient care. His passion for emergency preparedness led him to transition into hospital emergency management, where he has been a dedicated leader for many years.

Since 2008, Robb has been actively involved in the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS), playing a critical role in developing, implementing, and refining emergency operations plans within healthcare facilities. His expertise extends to the creation of comprehensive emergency operations plans, ensuring hospitals are well-prepared for a wide range of disasters and crises.

In addition to his planning and response efforts, Robb has developed and facilitated numerous HICS training sessions and large-scale exercises.  Some of the Hospital Command Center exercises have included scenarios like active violence, family reunification as well as an environmental exercise that was featured on a PBS special “SoCal Connected”. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boPYAc7LDxY

His training programs cover vital areas such as family reunification, medical response and surge capacity, and the Statewide Medical and Health Exercise. His ability to design realistic and effective exercises has strengthened hospital readiness and improved coordination among healthcare professionals and emergency responders.
