Launch Online Human Trafficking Course
for EMS & Fire Service Professionals!

MissionCIT and the Connecticut Department of Children & Families are proud to announce the launch of our “Introduction to Human Trafficking in Connecticut: Become an Ally!” In this DCF online course, you’ll learn to recognize the signs of human trafficking in your community, and understand the impact of this crime on individuals and society. Additionally, you’ll gain knowledge of Connecticut-specific laws and resources, and learn how to make a difference by identifying and reporting potential cases.

This is a required DCF online course, and is mandated and approved by the CT Department of Children and Families (DCF). It must be taken every three years. The course meets all state requirements for a Human Trafficking course.

Who should take this course?

Are you unsure if this DCF online course is for you? Not to worry! If you are a staff member of any EMS agency or fire department in the state of Connecticut, you should be taking this course. This includes both employees and volunteer members that are a part of these organizations. 

This course will also serve as a source of CEU hours for those completing recertifications. Please visit the course page in order to obtain specific details regarding the requirements. 

Course Features:

The course meets all CT DCF guidelines, fully complying with all requirements outlined by the department. It was developed in collaboration with the DCF, ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of the course. And don’t forget – the course is entirely free!

How to Enroll:

In order to enroll, visit the course page (add link). Once on the page, add the course to your cart, and fill in the required information and checkout (don’t worry – you won’t need a payment method). Once completed, you’ll receive an email confirmation with your login credentials and instructions on how to access and complete the course.

Upon Course Completion:

Once you complete the course, you will receive a certificate of completion. MissionCIT will automatically notify the Connectcitu Department of Children and Families of your successful course completion. Finally, for your convenience, MissionCIT will maintain records of your completion and provide transcripts upon request.

MissionCIT provides EMS education, Fire Service Training, Entry & Promotional Testing, and Professional Services for public safety, focusing on the Fire Service. We augment a Fire Department’s capabilities as a strategic partner.

In addition to this in-person course offering, we also have hybrid course options at varying lengths. Our accelerated program is 5 weeks long, and our accelerated program without Saturdays is 6 weeks long. Over the summer, we have a 7 week course, and 12 week courses at different times throughout the year. We also offer online recertification courses, and handle all of the paperwork for you!
