If the poison has been ingested, the following signs are your clue.
- Burns or stains around the mouth.
- Unusual breath odors, body odors, or odors on clothing or at the scene.
- Abnormal breathing.
- Abnormal pulse rate and rhythm.
- Sweating.
- Dilated or constricted pupils.
- Excessive saliva.
- Foaming at the mouth.
- Burning in mouth and throat.
- Painful to swallow.
- Abdominal pain.
- Upset stomach or nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
- Convulsions.
- Seizure.
- Altered mental status, including unresponsiveness.
