Event Description:
(ret) Chief Rob Clemons presents It could NEVER happen to us: An in-depth review of the Kyle Wilson LODD.
Just after 6:00AM on April 16, 2007, Prince William County Fire and Rescue System (VA) units were dispatched to a house fire. Six minutes after arriving, conditions dramatically changed and two MAYDAY radio transmissions occurred. The result was the tragic line of duty death of one of their own. What happened and what lessons can be learned by all firefighters and departments?
First Hand Accounts of the Event
Retired Fire Chief Rob Clemons will lead you through this unbelievable journey from the perspective of one of the lead investigators. He will review the initial scene size up, tactical decisions, and firsthand accounts of the event. Prince William County Fire and Rescue System desires the ultimate outcome of this tragic incident to be the sharing of knowledge and lessons learned in an effort to prevent this from happening to another firefighter and fire department.
